From its opening on October 1, 2021 until November 21, 2021, the biggest world fair in
Dubai attracted 4,15 million visitors.
The rich sports, music, and cultural program that took place over the past week and during
the weekend attracted a large number of visitors.
The previous week was Tolerance and Inclusivity Week, a week of fostering greater common
understanding for a more tolerant and inclusive society – a society for all. The Tolerance and
Inclusivity week consisted of more than twenty events, including a three-day Te Aratini
Festival of Indigenous and Tribal Ideas hosted by Aotearoa New Zealand, featuring
performers from UAE, Australia, Canada, Malaysia, Panama, Paraguay, and the United
Moreover, the International Day for Tolerance was observed on November 16, 2021, and
numerous meetings and activities on this topic were held – from business forum highlighting
business opportunities, cutting-edge technologies and progress achieved by the UAE, other
country members and Expo partners regarding tolerance and inclusivity, to the Global
Interfaith Summit whose main topic was building interpersonal relationships on shared
values and similarities.
Special attention was paid to marking World Children’s Day. Expo 2020 Dubai joined forces
with UNICEF and the UAE Ministry of Community Development to celebrate this day with a
slate of youth-led festivities that culminated in a spectacular concert at Al Wasl Plaza, which
included Lebanese singer Yara, UNICEF Regional Ambassador for the Middle East and North
Africa, who debuted We Want to Live, a new song about children. In addition, in the last
month the Expo School Program hosted more than 200 000 students from both public and
private schools across the UAE.
It would be hard to cover all events and activities that took place in just one week, so we will
just emphasize that the number of virtual visits to Expo 2020 Dubai has already reached an
incredible 22 million.
The week ahead of us brings various events. First, we would like to inform all chess fans that
the World Chess Championship begins on November 24, which is expected to be one of the
greatest contests in the history of chess. True chess fans will have the opportunity to follow
